Professional Kane Hanson of Detroit CC shot a final round 3-under par 69 and finished the 54-hole event at 10-under par 206 to win his first Minnesota State Open Championship title. Hanson used birdies on holes 14 and 15 to pull away from the field and win by two shots over professional Joe O´Brien of Minneapolis GC, who finished with a final round 3-under par 69 and an 8-under par total of 208. Amateur Clayton Rask of Monticello CC claimed low amateur honors, finishing third overall at 7-under par 209 after a final round 2-under par 70. Second round co-leader professional Neil Johnson of Troy Burne GC finished tied for fourth with past champion PGA professional Dave Tentis of Troy Burne GC. Both finished the championship at Bunker Hills Golf Club at 6-under par 210.
Defending champion PGA professional Mike Barge of Hazeltine National GC finished the championship tied for 11th at 1-under par 215.
